About the classes
On this 4-week course we will learn about the basics of meditation & Buddhism and how to develop a meditation practice. We will also discover how our all of our daily experiences, positive and negative, come from our own mind.

This understanding will encourage us to transform the way we see the world, making our thoughts and feelings more beneficial and helping us to create a more positive future. In this way our quality of life will improve and we will experience the lasting peace and happiness we long for.

About the talk

To launch this new venue, there will be a FREE Public Talk given by John McBretney, the Resident Teacher of Heruka Centre.

During the talk, John will introduce the basics of meditation and Buddhism and will explain how, by practicing special meditation techniques, we can gradually solve daily problems such as stress and anxiety, and learn how to develop positive attitudes of mind that make our lives happy and meaningful.

Bookings
There is no need to book in advance. Simply turn up and register when you arrive. Everyone is welcome.

Weekly classes
Starting Thursday 9 September, weekly classes will continue at the same venue.

Do you sometimes experience stress, worry or anxiety? Do you want to find out how meditation can improve your peace of mind and happiness? If you do, you might enjoy one of our increasingly popular 'Learn to meditate in half-day' courses.

In just one morning you will learn the basics of meditation and get a taste of some of the many benefits. These courses are proving very popular and many people say how much benefit they get from a morning's meditation with an experienced teacher.

Anyone can attend these meditation courses; they are suitable for complete beginners and those with some experience.

About the event
At this year’s UK Dharma Celebration, the National Spiritual Director of the New Kadampa Tradition, Kadam Bridget Heyes, will grant the blessing empowerment of Avalokiteshvara, the Buddha of Compassion, and give teachings on practising compassion and wisdom together.

Through receiving these profound blessings and inspiring teachings our inner potential for love, compassion and wisdom will be awakened. By improving our good heart and our wisdom, we will gain the ability to solve our own and others’ problems, fulfil our wishes and learn how to reach our full spiritual potential.
