Q: Why meditate?

A: Happiness is a state of mind; therefore the real source of happiness lies within the mind. If our mind is pure and peaceful we'll be happy, regardless of our external conditions, but if it is impure and unpeaceful, we will never find happiness, no matter how hard we try.

The purpose of meditation is to cultivate those states of mind that are conducive to peace and well being, and to reduce those that aren't.

Q: How can meditation help me in my daily life?

A: Meditation can bring many benefits, including:
  • Increased peace of mind
  • Reduced stress, fear, and anxiety
  • Enhanced contentment and well-being
  • Improved concentration
  • Better relationships
  • Greater physical health and energy
  • A happy and meaningful life

Q: Do I have to be a Buddhist to benefit from meditation?

A: No. Anyone can learn basic meditation and experience the benefits. Buddhists respect all people regardless of whether they have another faith, or none.
