Volunteering at Heruka Centre

The building project

We have recently bought a new, three-storey building and have plans to develop it into a beautiful and inspiring public space suitable for meditation classes and retreats.

When completed, the building will boast a 90-seater meditation room, café, bookshop and lounge area. We also plan to convert 3 of the bedrooms into ensuites and introduce 1 or 2 new bedrooms on the 1st and 2nd floors of the property. Work has already begun in the meditation room, but we need help to move the project forward.

How you can help

Do you have free time to help us with our building project, either as an advisor or in a hands-on capacity? We are looking for Builders, Electricians, Plasterers, Plumbers, Carpenters, Joiners, Decorators, Landscape Gardeners and Labourers.

What we offer volunteers

In return for your time and energy, and 35-hour week, we will provide 3 vegetarian meals a day and, if required, accommodation at the Centre. You will also have access to the facilities that the Centre offers including: weekly meditation classes and weekend course (providing the weekly events are running).

Please note: since Heruka Centre is a Buddhist Centre, volunteers are asked not to drink alcohol or smoke on the premises.
